Issue Position: The Issue is Our Quality of Life

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2013

We live in one of the most beautiful places in America. We have a very bright future here in the South Carolina Lowcountry, and that's why people and companies from across our country and around the world are moving here. I want to represent you in Congress to protect and improve our quality of life, and I will fight to put our country back on the right track.

I am a husband and a father of three who wants our country to be a place of even greater opportunity for our young Americans.

I am not a political insider.

I greatly respect America's public servants, but I know that sending more career politicians to Washington will only create more problems for our country.

I want to go to Washington to deliver solutions to the challenges we face.

I am a high school economics teacher who knows the only way for you to achieve your dreams is for politicians to get out of the way. The spirit of entrepreneurship built this country, and we must allow hardworking, innovative Americans to rebuild our economy.

I am a Republican who will fight to help you keep and enjoy what you have earned.

I know we cannot spend our way out of debt.

I know raising taxes will only create more problems for all of us.

I know unions are reducing America's economic competitiveness, and I will fight to keep South Carolina a right-to-work state.

I am concerned about the impact of Obamacare on America's healthcare sector, and I know Obamacare -- like the Obama presidency -- is doing more harm than good.

I am concerned about federal policies and programs that diminish the quality of education for South Carolina's youth, and I know parents deserve more options for their kids.

I am a graduate of The Citadel, and I know that unless the federal government succeeds in providing for the common defense it cannot achieve the other goals put forth in the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States.

I worked in the Soviet Union as a news cameraman and editor for two years during the Cold War, and I know that if America fails to demonstrate leadership in the world we will make it easier for our enemies to redefine just what it means to be an American.

I know we will never truly be secure until we secure America's borders, and we must harness the potential of our own energy resources.

I believe we have a moral obligation to defend Israel against the same dangerous force that seeks to destroy our way of life here in the United States: Radical Islam.

I believe that how we treat Americans who have fought to protect our way of life reflects our values, and I know we can and we must do more for America's veterans.

I am a constitutional conservative and a hunter who will fight to defend your right to bear arms.

I am an outdoorsman and a conservationist who believes in the importance of stewarding our natural resources, but I will fight to prevent special interest groups from disrupting commerce.

I am a resident of the Lowcountry who wants to be of service to you because I share your concerns about the future of our country.

I'm Teddy Turner. If you elect me to represent you in Congress, I will fight to make it possible for you to achieve your dreams so that we can continue to improve our quality of life.
